Linwood comes to Westcott!

Thanks to the generosity of Imp Club member Mark Wilmott, we now have a beautifully-detailed model of the Rootes factory at Linwood. Birthplace of the Imp and subsequently under Chrysler also the centre for production of the "Arrow" range, Linwood was (and remains) a controversial chapter in the history of the Rootes group. Hopefully we will tell something of this story in future issues of New Devonshire House News.
The model was built by Mark, originally for display at shows in South West England, over an 18-month period from photographs published in the book Geoffrey Rootes’ dream for Linwood by our trustee Bob Allan. It measures 6ft by 4ft and is accurate down to the last detail, even to tiny transporters laden with Imps en route to dealerships! We plan to wall mount it in the Boardroom as a permanent feature of our displays.
