Remanufacture of new parts to keep our cars on the road is a primary objective of the Rootes Archive Centre. So we were delighted recently to receive proof that this policy is working.
The first new parts manufactured from the Rootes Engineering drawings are now available - an Imp water pump that takes advantage of all the improvements introduced during the car's long production life
The Imp water pump has been produced by a Dutch Rootes specialist, Arnoud Malherbe, and is available direct from his firm, see http://www.rootesparts.com or from The Imp Club or other specialists. Continuing a motor industry tradition, the first off the production line was presented to the Trust by members of the Rootes Club Nederland who came over specially for the purpose to the Open Day on 10th June (see photograph).
A number of other re-manufacture projects are in the pipeline and we look forward to receiving more enquiries, from clubs or specialist companies.
