This book references the old Standards Lists before the ``million'' number series was introduced c.1959.

The mysterious prefixes for the older part nos. are partially explained as follows. In Book 5 they are translated into the later number series.

P, H, K series continued to be used for numbers higher than 1000 and may now be included in the Microfiche collection.
